Langston Hughes was the author of the poem "Mother to Son" which we read in class. Research Langston Hughes life and reflect on how it relates to the poem.
Langston Hughes life reflected on this poem for reasons. One reason was because his mother and father separated. His father went to seek escape from racism while his mother sought for employment. Langston Houston might have written this because his mom went through hard times. His mom is telling him to keep going, despite obstacles including separation of parents and many others.
I believed that this poem is a reflection of Langston Hughes life. He was raised by his mom after his parents got divorced. Langston Hughes lived all the struggles that his mom endured and keep never gave up. This was the inspiration for this poem.
Langston Hughes life was hard because his dad divorced. Apparently he was also half African american. His childhood was hard and had many unexpected dark turns that most probably inspired him to write that poem.
I agree with Albert and Daniel. I believe the poem was about himself and his mother. I also think that the way he wrote it was because that is the way people talked back then. The poem really shows his personality.
i think the poem related on his life because he was African American, so he he faced segregation and racism, and his parents were divorced, he was an only child, he lived ith his mother, faced hard times, and was very lonely. but his mother told him to keep moving on because things will get better. just like he said in the poem.
