Like they said in the article the bridge was overloading with trucks so that could have been a reason for the collapse or also they maybe could have worked on it and test drove it a little longer. Another reason it could of fallen is because maybe they used bad materials.
One reason why the bridge collapsed was probably due to the overload of heavy trucks. Also, another reason could have been that they didn't use the materials right or that the quality of the materials wasn't good. I think this because China was already in heavy debt.
One reason for the collapse of the bridge was the use of poor quality material . Another reason is the the poor planning and design on the construction of the bridge. I believe that in order to build a bridge you need to plan the weight of the vehicles that will be cross over this bridge.
It could have been the weather of the area or more weight than the bridge could handle. They should have known the weight limit and the material to use to survive through wind and storms.

The Chinese officials blamed overloaded trucks for collapses of bridges, so, maybe the trucks going on it all the time caused a little of the material to crack and the Chinese didn't notice. a posible reson is that it was not strong snuff to support that much weight at one time therefor if it would have had a better support frame it most likely would not have collapsed
